Things are looking good in Alberta’s oil patch. After some very tough years activity has bounced back, as has the price of a barrel of crude. But the current level of prosperity doesn’t always filter down to the communities where the industry is focused.

Council looks at liquor stores

Drayton Valley has more liquor and cannabis stores than most similar communities according to a report brought to town council last week. However, council were advised against taking steps to cap the number of such businesses allowed in town.

The disc golf course in Ivan To Park may soon be growing. On Wednesday town council heard a proposal that would see the course double in size to 18 holes.
