Drayton Valley’s standalone Covid-19 testing and immunization clinic closed last week. It was one of five in central Alberta shut down by Alberta Health Services due to decreasing demand.

Performing Arts Festival returns

Dufault says there were 48 performers in total at the festival this year, though many performed in more than one category. Those participating in the event ranged from age six to adult, and all were from the Drayton Valley area.

Thunder coach reflects on season

Lamplighter fundraiser a success

The Lamplighters have outdone themselves yet again. Harvey Giesbrecht, one of the members of the team, says the Raising the Roof fundraiser held on April 9 and 10 saw donations that met or exceeded their goal for helping the Legion.

Local hockey player signs with NHL team

A former DV Minor Hockey Player to their roster has signed with the Washington Capitals. Clay Stevenson was born in Edmonton, but he spent part of his life growing up in Drayton Valley with his dad, Ian. The other portion of his life was spent in B.C. with his mother Holly, who was one of the greatest supporters of his hockey career.

Triathlon coming up

Get ready to swim, cycle and run. The Drayton Valley Triathlon is coming up in not much more than a month. After a two-year hiatus brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic, the triathlon is set to go Saturday May 7.
