A scenic ride with your kid – Drayton Valley to Rocky Rapids

The ride from Drayton Valley to Rocky Rapids and back is 16 km. There are a few not so small hills, and did I mention it’s 16 km!?!? Compound these seemingly insurmountable obstacles with the fact that Connolly Doerksen is only four years old. Most parents would say the bike trip was doomed for disaster.

Independence group sees local support

A crowd of close to 200 turned out to an industrial shop on the edge of Drayton Valley last Friday evening to hear three speakers from the APP lay out the group’s goals and objectives, which include the creation of a sovereign constitutional Republic of Alberta.

Midway returning to Drayton

In the past, the midway was held in early June, but this year it will be held on the last weekend of the month, from June 23-26. Dylan Fulks, the president of the Lions Club, says that while the date is different, there are a lot of other activities going on that it can tie into. With school letting out on the 24th and the Community Foundation’s street party taking place on that same Friday, Fulks feels like there will be a good turn out at the midway.
