Council looks at liquor stores

Drayton Valley has more liquor and cannabis stores than most similar communities according to a report brought to town council last week. However, council were advised against taking steps to cap the number of such businesses allowed in town.

Library celebrates literacy

The Drayton Valley Municipal Library hosted a workshop for preschoolers to celebrate Family Literacy Day. The goal of the event was to expose young people to literacy in various languages, with different stations set up to teach attendees about different aspects of heritage and literacy.

Fumbles and bumbles at Rose Creek

We were about 45 minutes into what turned out to be a very thick bushwack. I was mid-lunge and my ski was looking like a “U” as I tried to get over a fallen tree when my aunt asked, “How much weight do you think we can put on our skis before they break?” I paused, unweighted my ski and looked around to see if there was another way through.
