Treatment centre on the way

Plans to bring a treatment and recovery centre to Drayton Valley took a step forward this week. If all goes well the facility could open its doors this summer.

Vandals a headache for high school

The school year has not been smooth sailing for the custodial and administrative staff at Frank Maddock High School as there have been a number of incidents of vandalism. Much of it appears to be linked to a social media challenge issued in September, called Devious Licks.

Grant session for students

Those who struggle with filling out bursary and scholarship paperwork have an opportunity to get some help on November 17. In partnership with the Drayton Valley Community Foundation, the Clean Energy Technology Centre is putting on an information session for filling out the paperwork.

Pool construction going swimmingly

Event will support Brighter Futures

One local company is working to raise money for a local non-profit organization. FYI Doctors participates in an enhancing life program once a year and this year they have decided to donate the proceeds to Brighter Futures, a program that offers support for parents with young children.

Nordic Ski | Brazeau and Beyond

Ski the Pembina Nordic Ski Trails in beautiful Brazeau County. Built on and along the North Saskatchewan River Valley there is 30km of flat, and hilly terrain. Groomed for skate skiing and classic skiing. It closed to foot traffic, and domestic animal walking during the ski season.
