Lobstick River

For those paddlers learning how to navigate whitewater, the Lobstick River at Evansburg AB, offers whitewater action, east of the Rockies.

The Lobstick River is a small river that joins the Pembina River near the Pembina River Provincial Park. This is a narrow river that provides some whitewater challenges for paddlers typically in early spring and early summer when flow is higher.  Depending on the flow the river can range from a Class I to a Class III rapid.

Access points include:

  • Hwy 22 bridge 1.5 km north of Hwy 16.
  • Range Rd. 81 with a portage to the river
  • Evansburg Bridge on RR75
